Title: | The Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness |
Originally released October 24, 1995, the album would debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified 9x platinum by the RIAA. It yielded major hits like "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" the band's unlikely first Top 40 hit the exquisite "1979" and epic "Tonight, Tonight" as well as a thoroughly inspired series of videos. Produced by Billy Corgan, Flood and Alan Moulder, the album earnt a Grammy Award, 1996 Best Hard Rock Performance for "Bullet with Butterfly Wings", as well as seven Grammy nominations. Beyond the more obvious hits, though, Mellon Collie is a song cycle of unusual depth and considerable range. It is a collection of stunningly beautiful moments when everything lined up in a moment in time that's still here to be treasured.

Beautifully packaged, superb album
By: Chris on 30 June 2021I couldn't be happier with this - a seminal album from my youth flawlessly repressed over 4 LPs and packaged beautifully. I looked back at my CD copy, purchased in 1995 in the US on release and there's not a lot of extra graphical content in the deluxe vinyl - that release came with a book of illustrations and lyrics too. But it looks so much more impressive in 12" format than as a CD booklet. Plus I bought this during the lockdown sale... bargain! Now if only I could get my hands on Siamese Dream on vinyl - truly the Pumpkins finest hour.....

Mellon Collie - reissue
By: Michael O'Sullivan on 30 November 2020Wonderful repressing of this classic, must-have album. The bands finest moment, and indeed, one of the greatest albums of the 1990s. Sounds fantastic and a great package with a couple of booklets about the making of each track and lyrics. As usual fast, reliable service from the store. This is a must have for any Smashing Pumpkins fan.

Sent In By: Greg C on 7 April 2025Hello I have been purchasing off Discrepancy for some time now my vinyl is always perfect and delivered in the most secure way you could drop it from a 10 story building without harm they always have the most up to date releases ect that you will not find anywhere else and helping you find deleted or out of stock items is no bother to them at this point I want to thank from the bottom of my heart Katie whom I speak to often as I’m not great with technology ect I purchased two vinyl albums in 2023 and put a deposit on as they were coming in two weeks later my family was murdered and my life ceased and was tuned upside down, eventually I rang Katie and explained the situation and was told not to worry and they will be there for me eventually I paid and had them delivered Katie was so kind and lovely I will never forget the actions of her and Discrepancy for being so patient in extraordinary circumstances and Katie’s kindness would bring me to tears anywho it showed me what a wonderful place discrepancy was and I never go anywhere else the funny thing is I have not purchased my turntable yet with the trauma of the above taking over my life but I am building my vinyl collection up with Katie’s help honestly don’t even think of going anywhere else for your music as Discrepancy have got you LITERALLY
