Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of The Joker. The timeless album originally released in October 1973 featured the single “The Joker” that went to #1 on The Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart in January 1974.
Curated by Steve Miller, J50: The Evolution of The Joker highlights 30 previously unreleased demos, live performances, studio outtakes and rehearsals from hours of tape that have sat for years within Miller’s personal archive. The 3LP + 7″ box and 2CD set is a journey, with narration by Miller, that documents the “evolution” of each song that appeared on The Joker.
The box set features a lenticular cover, 60-page book with liner notes from both Steve Miller & Anthony DeCurtis, a reproduction of a vintage Joker iron-on and a new Joker lithograph.
