“Optimistic, easy access, out-of-body techno – this is one flying saucer that cannot be wheel- clamped” – Roger Morton, NME 8/5/93
“They have a knack for uniting opposing moods: dance delirium and tripped-out tranquillity for instance. Try it on the sofa, try it on the sound-system” - Andy C, DJ Magazine 20/5/93
“Boundaries are being dissolved by records like this” – Ben Turner, Melody Maker, 8/5/93
“Beautifully crafted, deftly mixed layered and pulsating melodies, beats and rhythms. The best of the year. I don’t believe anyone can top it” – Robert Shea, XLR8R Magazine (the premier US dance music mag of its era) September 1993
Formed in 1989 and fronted by Merv Pepler, Joie Hinton and Steve Everitt, Eat Static were at the forefront of the 90’s live electronic music scene. They toured extensively all over the UK and Europe with occasional forays to the US and Japan. The band played at countless festivals and raves and were regular guests at the now legendary Megadog club nights. The band’s name came from a comment made by a character in the Star Trek film The Wrath of Khan!
